Grand March will start promptly at 5:00 p.m. in the High School gym. The theme for Grand March and After Prom is "Lifes a game....Win it!" Everyone is welcome to come and see our CHS students dressed in their best. Donations of individual servings of bottled water, Gatorade or energy drinks are appreciated. These drinks will be served dur- ing After Prom to help keep the cost down. Please park in the main parking lot by the gym and enter the school through the Common doors which will open at 4:00 p,m. Please be courteous to all the students and don't leave during Grand March until all couples have com- pleted Grand March. This year there will be addi- tional seating at the back of the gym and on the mez- zanine. There will be no admittance to the gym after 4:50 p.m. as a cour- tesy to the students. Therefore, please plan to arrive prior to 4:50 p.m. and stay for the entire pro- gram. It's a "Statetastic" PEACH Affair It is approaching that time of year again! April is around the corner and that means it is time for the an- nual PEACH Affair! The Carlisle Area Dollars for Scholars (DFS) has spon- sored the PEACH Affair since 1998. PEACH symbolizes the communities that are represented in our school dis- trict: Palmyra, Easter Lake, Avon, Carlisle, and Hart- ford. All the proceeds from the PEACH Affair go towards scholarships for the graduates of Carlisle High School. Set aside the evening of Saturday, April 20 th to attend this wonderful community event. The evening includes dinner, a silent auction, live auction, and the popular game of Heads & Tails. Tickets went on sale Monday, March 25 th at People's Bank and Great Western Bank. Tickets are $20 until April 15 th when they go to $25. This year's menu will be your choice of Italian Roasted Chicken Breast or Baron of Beef. With each entree you will receive au gratin potatoes, cheesy corn casserole, mixed greens with dressing, a dinner roll, and a choco- late ganache cupcake! Join.your friends and neighbors for a fun filled evening. We can't wait to see you there! There will be a Candle- light Corner Dinner on May 4 th to raise money for the endowment fund which will be used to provide a schol- arship to our church's graduating seniors each year. The Candlelight Cor- ner is a fun evening of dell- Candlelight Corner Dinner cious grilled steaks, baked potato., roll, salad bar and dessert You must make reservation to attend! People within our con- gregation and from the en- tire community are invited to join us for this special meal. Pat Brehse is accept- ing reservations at 989- 4104 or will be in church selling tickets. Tickets are $20 each. Dinner will be- gin serving at 5:00 P.M. and continue through 7:30 P.M. Make your reserva- tion today. If you cannot attend the dinner but would still like to support this effort for the scholarship endowment fund, you may always con- tribute by making your checks payable to the Church with the notation the funds are to be used for the scholarship endowment fund. Car at DFS Auction Carlisle Dollars for Scholars is proud to announce that we will have a car for this year's Dollars for Scholars auction and dinner to be held on April 20th, 2013. The vehicle for auction is a 2004 Ford Taurus SES, 4 door, 6 cylinder and has only 89,000 miles. Yes, you read cor- rectly! A 2004 with only 89,000 miles! This would be a great car for your Carlisle student or a second family car. The vehicle was generously donated by Dewey Ford, 3055 SE Delaware Ave, Ankeny, IA. Dewey may also be found at deweyford.com. The car will be located at Wyckoff Heating and Cooling at 95 Highway 5. Feel free to stop by and take a look at this great car and get your bid cards ready! Tickets for the auction may be purchased at Great Western Bank and Peoples Bank in Carlisle. April Mayor's Coffee Please join me the third Saturday of each month, 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM as I resume the Mayor's Coffee at Subway, 1105 Bluestem Drive. This is an opportunity to discuss and ask questions regarding local issues or just chat about the future of Carlisle and the vision we have for our community. The City of Carlisle desires to hear from citizens on issues important to you as we plan and move forward together. The format is very informal. Lifeserve Blood Center Welcomes First Time Blood Donors Donating blood is safe, simple and only takes about an hour of your time. LifeServe Blood Center needs new, first time blood donors, as well as established blood do- nors, to help expand and sustain the donor base. Blood donors are needed every day to provide lifesaving blood products to hospital patients in our community. LifeServe Blood Center invites you to make a difference in your community and become a blood donor. Be a contributor in your community and give your lifesaving gift at the next Carlisle High School Blood Drive.
