The annual PEACH Affair is Saturday, April 20th. However, your time to buy tickets is nearly gone. Please contact Great Western Bank or People's Bank to reserve your table by Saturday, April 13th. Tickets are currently $20 and will increase to $25 beginning April 15th. The Carlisle Area Dollars for Scholars (DFS) has sponsored the PEACH Af- fair which consists of a- din- ner, live and silent auc- tions, since 1998. PEACH symbolizes the communi- ties that are represented in our school district: Palmyra, Easter Lake, Avon, Carlisle, and Hart- ford. All the proceeds from the PEACH Affair go to- wards scholarships for the graduates of Carlisle High School. This year's menu will be your choice of Italian Roasted Chicken Breast or Baron of Beef. With each entree you will receive au gratin potatoes, cheesy corn casserole, mixed greens with dressing, a din- ner roll, and a chocolate ganache cupcake! Cemetery Cleanup The Richland Township Trustees remind everyone that the cemetery spring cleanup has begun. All decorations not permanently attached to monuments will be removed by May 1st. Please tend to your family's graves if you want to retain anything of value. This is a permanent policy'of the cemetery. Hartford Betterment Thank You The Hartford Betterment Committee wishes to thank everyone who donated candy and eggs to the Easter Egg Hunt last week. Also, thank you to the helpers who as- sisted the Easter Bunny in all the ways you made a dif- ference. The Betterment Committee will hold its next meeting Thursday, April 11 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall. Hartford Fire Department Breakfast April 13 The Hartford Fire Department Enterprise is holding their annual breakfast on Saturday, April 13 from 7:00 - 10:00 a.m. at the Fire Station. Breakfast is pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and scrambled eggs accom- panied with milk, juice or coffee. A free will offering will be taken at the door. Give It Away 5k Lorrie Shetterly Memorial Event The first Annual "Give it Away 5K" - Lorrie Shetterl Memorial Event will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at Water Works Park in Des Moines. There will be a chip-timed 5K race, a non-competitive 1 mile honor walk, and a memorial balloon launch. All proceeds from the event will be donated to• Iowa Health Hospice to support their comfort therapies provided to individuals receiving end of life care in their homes or an in-patient setting such as Taylor House. Registration is available online or via mail. Please see the race website at for all the details. If you are unable to participate, but would like to sup- port the event with a donation, your secure, online dona- tion can be accepted through the event website, or you can complete the donor form and mail it in. LifeServe Blood Center needs new, first time blood donors, as well as established blood do- nors, to help expand and sustain the donor base. Immediately following the event, snacks and refreshments will be served and prizes will be awarded. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Annett Nature Center Osprey Project.
