Craig Cherry, 55, of rural Indianola, was arrested for OWI. April 2 9 p.m. Lizabeth Belcher, 41, of Carlisle, struck a deer on Highway 65/9 near Elkhorn. Estimated damage $2500. Skate South reported receiving a $10 counterfeit bill. Bethann McIntyre, of Hartford, reported $550 damage to the door at her residence when it was broken into. Noth- ing taken. Mario Anthony, 44, of Des Moines, was arrested for pro- bation violation. Joshua Blewitt, 19, of Indianola, was arrested for proba- tion violation. John Marchant IV, 26, of Des Moines, was arrested by State Patrol for 2nd offense OWI. Alejandro Rodriguez, 25, of Osceola, was arrested for pub- lic intoxication. April 3 Jessua Hood, 31, of Des Moines, was arrested for failure to appear. Spencer Starrett, 18, of Des Moines, was arrested for OWI and speeding. 4:30 p.m. Sommer Cook, 20, of Des Moines, was south- bound on Hwy. 65/69 south of G24, and lost control going into the ditch. She was charged with driving while license revoked and drag racing. Estimated vehicle damage $7000. April 4 ............... Jeffrey Morrison, 26, of Lacona, was arrested for OWI and speeding. Mark Pitt, 52, of Des Moines, was arrested for failure to appear. Robert VonHoffen, 25, of Winterset, was arrested for fail- ure to appear. April 5 Robert Wilson, 21, of rural Indianola, was arrested for domestic assault and obstruction of emergency communi- cations. Christopher Potter, 24, of Knoxville, was arrested for pro- bation violation. Jordan Craven, 21, of rural Norwalk, was arrested for domestic assault. Rodney Adamson, 53, of Des Moines, was arrested for fail- ure to appear. A rural Indianola women reported threatening text mes- sages from an Indianola person. April 6 A rural Norwalk man reported violation of a no contact order. A 60 year old Chariton man was under investiga- tion. Joshua Manley, 19, of Milo, was arrested by State Patrol for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Francisco Marteniz Jr. 32, of Chatville, MN. was arrested for failure to appear. Curtis Porter, 29, of rural Indianola, was arrested for 2nd offense OWI and failure to show proof of insurance. The statewide'semiannual payment of more than $42.9 million makes MidAmerican the largest property tax-pay- ing entity in Iowa. The tax payments are based on the investment MidAmerican has made in property necessary to maintain and enhance electric and natural gas service to its customers. MidAmerican's investments range from power plants, wind turbines and natural gas distribution lines to transformers and meters. The payments benefit 80 of Iowa's 99 counties. Taxes paid to individual counties vary from region to region based on the amount of MidAmerican property in each county. Warren County received $911,232.00 for the fiscal year. Earth Day Tree Planting at Easter Lake Celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day with Polk County Conservation on Thursday, April 22, from 6-8 p.m., at Easter Lake Park. Give back to the environment, beautify a public area, and celebrate the many benefits of trees by assisting Polk County Conservation staff plant trees in the park. You'll learn the proper techniques for planting trees and then get hands-on experience placing them in the ground. Participants should take the north/beach entrance off Evergreen Dr. and follow the signs to the tree planting location. All materials will be provided. All ages are wel- come.
