The times and loca- tions are as follows: Elementary, Pre-school - 3  Grade 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Hartford Upper elementary: 4 th 5 th Grade 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Middle School: 6 th - 8 th Grade 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. High School: 9 th- 12 th Grade 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Question and Answer Session, 7:00 - 7:30 p.m. for Fresh- men, new students and anyone else interested. Fifth Annual Bike Ride / Walk / Breakfast You, are invited to participate in the Carlisle Area Chamber's Fifth Annual Community Bike Ride/Walk/ Breakfast on Saturday, August 7th, at the, Summerset Trailhead in Carlisle. Breakfast is being served from 7:00 - 10:00 a.m. You are. welcome to ride your bike before or following break- fast. WALKERS are also welcome. A free-will donation is asked for the breakfast. Proceeds will to towards the hang- ing planters and Beautification Projects for the Commu- nity. NEW this year is a Geocaching Workshop. This will start at 8:00 a.m. and is free to everyone who attends. Sample caches will be placed along the trail for beginners to this family hobby. Lime green t-shirts will also be available for purchase at $10 for adult sizes and $5 for children sizes. Bring the whole family - join in the fun. Choose from a leisurely ride to the state park. a longer workout to Indianola and back to the trailhead for breakfast. OR. just come to enjoy an outdoor breakfast and visiting. CYA Football Equipment Pick-up and CYA football equipment pickup is scheduled for Satur- day, August 14. from 9am to 12 noon at the elementary school, please use the blue doors. Friends of the Library Book Sale August 7 A book sale sponsored by the Friends of the Li- brary will be held on Satur- day, August 7 from 10:00 AM 5:00 PM at the Carlisle Public Library. All adult books will sell for twenty-five cents: paper- backs and children's books for ten cents. Donations of good used books will be accepted at the library until Wednesday, August 4 during regular li- brary hours. We are not able to ac- cept textbooks, condensed books, magazines, encyclo- pedias and Readers Digests. Operation Backpack The Christian Commu- nity in Action (CCA), CUMC Kid's Hope USA and the elementary guidance counselors have combined efforts again this year to fa- cilitate "Operation Back- pack." During July we will be collecting school supplies in various locations or you may make a monetary do- natron if you wish at desig- nated locations around town in a container marked. "Operation Backpack." In order to make certain our supplies are adequate, it is important to pre-register so that we may collect and pur- chase supplies as appropri- ate. The actual "Operation Backpack" event will be hosted in early August. Families needing assistance with school supplies for next year are encouraged to attend and will be able to select school supplies and fill their backpacks. This will enable the children to attend the first day of school in the fall with their back- packs already loaded with their school supplies. Collection bins for school supplies will be placed around town along with do- nation jars marked "Opera- tion Backpack" during the month of July. Checks may be made payable to "CCA.: Jars will be picked up at the end of the month or checks may be mailed if you prefer to Kayla Price, 325 N. First Street, Carlisle.
