The Appel Report
By State Senator Staci Appel
It's been an honor
It's been an honor and a pleasure to represent you in the
Iowa Senate.
Thank you for the hundreds of letters, e-mails, phone
calls and face-to-face visits over the years.
You've given me great ideas and suggestions and have
helped me better understand the issues, both large and
small.
Together, we accomplished much. Iowa's renewable en-
ergy industry is thriving. Our state is number one when it
comes to children's health care. And we've laid the ground-
work to keep building a strong economy.
I'll continue to be involved and I hope you will too. Your
interest in improving our state will help Iowa remain the
best place to live, work and raise a family.
Sincerely, Staci Appel

Seeds From The Sower
by Michael A. Guido, Metter, Georgia
Ray Valine of California lost his job. It made so many
wrinkles on his head that he had to screw his hat off.
Then he thought of a novel way to support his family.
He turned his head into a billboard.
He shaved it, printed four ads on it, and wandered
through the streets of Sacramento. He made $100 a day.
That's using your head, isn't it?
The Christian, too, is a walking billboard for the Lord,
"known and read of all men."
Are you a good ad, drawing others to the Lord, or a bad
ad, driving others from the Lord?
Hew do you communicate Christ?
